Over the past few months we’ve been bringing Steady into the tools you already work in with our MCP server, v2 API, and CLI. They’re broad by design, general-purpose ways to connect Steady to just about anything.
More recently, we’ve been going deep on Slack, a tool plenty of teams spend their whole day in. A big round of updates is headed to the Steady Slack app, and the first part is rolling out now: you can check in and post goal updates right in Slack, and your reminders show where you left off. Coming soon are Echo broadcasts to channels and Asks in Slack.
Check in and post updates from Slack
Check-in reminders in Slack now come with a second option. In addition to checking in via the Steady web app, you can open the check-in form right in Slack. It’s the full check-in you know from the web app: your previous intentions up top, Quick Fill to write a draft from your past intentions and activity, and rich text for every answer.
Goal update reminders get the same treatment. Use the Steady web app, or write the story, set progress and confidence, and post right from Slack.
Reminders that pick up where you left off
A good update picks up where the last one left off. Check-in reminders in Slack now include the intentions from your last check-in, so you know what you set out to do before you write about how it went. Goal update reminders lead with details from the previous update — title, confidence, progress — so you know where the story stands before you add the next chapter.
This context applies to every other reminder channel too, including email, Microsoft Teams, and native.
Coming soon to Slack
Next up is a release that centers on Steady’s AI features. This one will need new permissions. When it lands, admins will see an Update Slack permissions button on the Slack card in Workspace settings → Integrations. Here’s what it’ll unlock:
- Broadcast Echoes to Slack channels. Point any Echo at a Slack channel you’re in, and each answer posts there on schedule for the whole channel to read: a team summary, a weekly Insights snapshot, a participation leaderboard, an industry news roundup.
- Asks in Slack. DM the Steady app a question, and the answer streams into the thread as it’s written. It’s the same answer you’d get in the app, and it lands in your Asks history.
Get started
