Overview
Staying on top of what the team is working on shouldn’t require refreshing GitHub all day. This preset delivers a weekly summary of all newly opened pull requests so you can see what’s in flight without constantly checking.
What this is for
This preset solves the visibility problem for work in progress. Pull requests get opened throughout the week, but keeping track of what’s currently under development means either checking GitHub constantly or waiting until standup to ask what everyone’s working on. By the time you realize someone’s tackling the wrong thing or duplicating work, they’ve already invested hours.
The New PRs this week preset gives you a complete picture of what work started in the past 7 days. You see new features, bug fixes, and refactors as they kick off, which means you can spot problems early, coordinate related work, and stay informed without surveillance.
Who should use this
Engineering managers overseeing multiple engineers who need to know what’s being worked on without micromanaging. You’ll catch issues early when someone’s heading in the wrong direction instead of discovering it in code review.
Tech leads responsible for architecture who need to spot PRs that might need extra attention or coordination. You’ll see potentially risky changes as they start instead of being surprised when they land.
Product managers working closely with engineering who want visibility into what’s actively being built. You’ll know when features are in development without having to ask engineers for status updates.
The prompt
Summarize all the GitHub pull requests that were opened in the last 7 days.
