Henry here. Today I want to zoom in on one specific thing our MCP connection makes a lot easier, writing a goal update. Goal updates are the kind of thing everybody agrees is valuable, but nobody enjoys writing. You end up digging through Linear, GitHub, maybe your last update just to get started.
So most people either skip them or paste in some generic AI summary that doesn’t actually sound like them and misses critical context. With Steady Connected to Claude, I can split the job. Claude does the assembly, I keep the narrative, and the goal update gets done fast and efficiently. Let me show you.
Over here on the left, I have Claude code running, and over here on the right, I have Steady running in a web browser. I’m logged in here as Quinn Reid, a director of engineering at a company called Quantronica. org is moving towards the goal of launching the PSC, version 2.0. Recently, we updated a design brief in our Tolaria vault, which is where we store project documentation in markdown format.
Tolaria is an open source project for organizing documentation. Check it out. also made some progress with issues that’s tracked here in this GitHub project board. So let’s put it all together in a goal story update in Steady.
From Steady, pull up the goal, launch PSC 2.0. Show me my last update, current progress, and confidence. Okay, I can see, we’re at 55%, we’re at risk here, and I’m looking at the latest update. Okay.
Help me draft a new update so that all of the stakeholders can stay informed. Gather the new design brief in Tolaria labeled “Design deliverables for PSC 2.0”, and the done items from the PSC version two project in GitHub under Quantronica. Summarize briefly and show me a draft.
Okay. Claude has come back with this draft update. I’m taking a look. Yes, it does capture the right context and summary.
Um, however, I’m gonna take off number 12, the critical instruments. Take away the number 12 pin on critical instruments. We don’t need that for this update and submit it to Steady. That’s it.
The update is live and steady. So all of the subscribers to this goal have gotten pinged in Slack and Teams or in email, and I never left Claude. And next week when I sit down to write the next update, this one’s already part of the context that Claude pulls in, so the story builds on itself.
