Microsoft Copilot

Connect Steady to Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork to bring team context into your conversation and send progress back to Steady. Microsoft’s agents can use that context to help keep your team of people and agents coordinated and aligned.

Before you start

You need a Steady account, a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, and access to Cowork. Your Microsoft 365 administrator may need to approve or deploy Steady before you can find it. See Microsoft’s plugin administration guide for current requirements.

These instructions cover Copilot Cowork. The Microsoft Teams bot has a separate setup for reminders and notifications. Copilot Studio and GitHub Copilot have their own connection instructions in AI Assistants.

Connect Steady

  1. Open Cowork and select +, then Customize.
  2. Search the plugin catalog for Steady and open its details. Add the plugin if your administrator hasn’t already deployed it.
  3. Enable Steady in Sources & Skills.
  4. Ask Cowork to show your Steady Daily Digest. When prompted, select Connect.
  5. Sign in to your Steady account and review the access request. Authorize the access you want Cowork to have.

Each person connects their own Steady account, even when an administrator deploys the plugin. Microsoft documents the plugin and connection controls.

Try it

Start by asking:

Show my Daily Digest from Steady and help me understand where my team needs input.

Then try a check-in:

Draft today’s Steady check-in from my recent activity. Let me review it before submitting.

After reviewing the draft, ask Cowork to submit it. Open your check-in in Steady to see the saved update. Saving updates requires write access.

For a Goal Story, ask:

Read the recent updates for our launch goal and summarize what’s changed. Help me draft the next update.

Permissions and identity

Your connection acts as you. Cowork can access Steady data within your permissions and the access you’ve authorized. A connection doesn’t expand your access to private teams or goals. Check-ins and updates submitted through it are attributed to you.

Connecting Cowork doesn’t create an agent member in Steady. Agent teammates use their own identities and access tokens so their work is attributed to them.

Troubleshooting

Steady doesn’t appear in the catalog. Confirm that you have access to Cowork and ask your Microsoft 365 administrator whether Steady is available to your account or group.

Cowork isn’t using Steady. Open Sources & Skills and check that Steady is enabled and connected. Name Steady in your request.

Sign-in doesn’t finish. Check that you can sign in to Steady in your browser, then retry the connection. Contact your administrator if your organization blocks the consent flow.

Content is missing. Check whether you can access the same team or goal in Steady with the account you connected.

An update can’t be saved. Check that your connection has write access and that you can update the same record in Steady. If you previously granted only read access, reconnect and review the requested permissions.

Disconnect

Disable Steady in Cowork’s Sources & Skills to stop using it in conversations. For a plugin you installed yourself, open Customize, find Steady, and select Remove from Cowork. An administrator manages removal of an organization-deployed plugin.

To revoke Steady access, open Personal settings → Integrations, find the connection under AI Assistants, and revoke it. Turning off a plugin and revoking its authorization are separate controls.
