Overview
Plenty of work stalls not because it’s blocked but because a decision hasn’t been made. Two reasonable paths, nobody with the authority and the context to pick one, so the team idles politely while waiting for a call. This preset finds those forks in the road and gives you a recommendation for each.
What this is for
This preset solves the unmade-decision problem. Decisions hide. They rarely show up as “we need a decision here”; they show up as a goal that isn’t moving, a blocker phrased as a question, two intentions pointing in different directions. The team feels the indecision as friction without naming it, and the call that would unstick everything never gets put in front of the person who can make it.
The Decision support preset puts it in front of you. Each Tuesday it reads recent check-ins, blockers, and goal updates for the tradeoffs the team is implicitly waiting on, then lays out the real options, the cost of each, and a recommended choice with its reasoning. You may decide differently, but you’ll decide, instead of letting the fork quietly cost you another week.
Who should use this
Leaders whose teams wait on their call more often than those leaders realize. You’ll see the pending decisions surfaced and framed, ready to resolve.
Managers who want to decide faster without deciding carelessly. You’ll get the options and tradeoffs pre-assembled so the thinking is mostly done.
Anyone steering cross-functional work where decisions fall between owners. You’ll catch the tradeoffs that are nobody’s clear responsibility before they stall the whole effort.
The prompt
Identify the open decisions or tradeoffs implied by recent check-ins, blockers, and goal updates, where the team appears to be waiting on a call. For each, lay out the main options, the tradeoffs, and a recommended choice with reasoning.
