Overview
Knowing a goal is at risk is the easy part. The hard part is the blank space right after, where you’re supposed to know what to do about it. This preset fills that space: every Monday, the goals in trouble and a short list of moves for each.
What this is for
This preset solves the “now what?” problem. A risk flag tells you something is wrong, not how to fix it, and the fix is exactly where most managers stall. You stare at a slipping goal, know it needs attention, and default to the vaguest possible response: “keep an eye on it.” A week later it’s worse, and you’re staring again.
The Risk mitigation preset turns the flag into a plan. Each week it reviews your goals, identifies the ones at risk or trending that way, and for each one recommends two or three specific actions you could take now, with the reasoning behind them. You won’t agree with every suggestion, and you don’t have to. The point is to start the week with options on the table instead of a worry in the back of your mind.
Who should use this
Goal owners accountable for outcomes they can feel slipping but haven’t acted on. You’ll trade the nagging sense that you should do something for a concrete shortlist of somethings.
Managers juggling several goals at once who can’t give each one a deep think every week. You’ll get a triaged set of recommendations covering all of them at the same time.
Leaders who want to intervene early while a course correction is still cheap. You’ll have the moves ready before a wobbling goal becomes a missed one.
The prompt
List the goals currently marked at risk or showing signs of slipping. For each one, explain why it's at risk and recommend 2-3 concrete actions I could take this week to get it back on track.
